Fear and Love: The two basic motivating forces

Fear and Love
Written by Zane Baker

There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.”

  • I found that this piece resonated for me. I can tell when I’m operating from fear, and when I’m operating from love. Sometimes a situation will push me over that line, and I will find myself feeling so uncertain, so unsure of myself, so in fear of loss… but when I am stronger in coming from a place of love, I believe in myself and I believe in those who are dear to me as well– confident that they also love me, and so forth. Operating from love is also very comforting and nurturing, both to the loved person(s) and to the self!!!!
